"The first time I experienced a large multichannel sound system, it felt like the world expanded around me and presented itself in a higher resolution. That sensation is what I strive to capture in my music."
b. 1995 - Tromsø, Norway/Stockholm, Sweden
I am a composer, artist, and digital orchestra conductor. In my work I combine electronics, electroacousticsm field recordings and 3D sound technology to create immersive audio experiences.
Thematically, I delve into social phenomena. Each piece focusing on a different theme. From death and decomposition in the piece Ashes to Ashes, to the eternal building and rebuilding in our cities in Is it for the Government, crossing over to questions of our technologically saturated world in Beginning, over to Abeyance, a pause, an intersection. Through these specific societal snapshots, I aim to explore my surroundings.
My work has gained recognition, leading to presentations at venues across Europe, including ArteScienzia in Rome, Tallinn Music Week, Inkonst in Malmö, Palace of the Grand Dukes in Vilnius, Sentralen in Oslo, Insomnia Festival, Atalante Göteborg and Folkoperan in Stockholm. I frequently engage in collaborative projects and have partnered with various artists, such as Per Martinsen, Mental Overdrive, Arve Henriksen and Toby Kassell.
In 2023 I got the title Emerging Artist from the Arctic Arts Festival and was also elected to be part of KUPP 2.2. KUPP is a development program for young, promising composers under the age of 35.
Ambisonics is a full-sphere surround sound format. It covers sound sources around, above and below the listener. Contrasting other multichannel surround formats, it allows audio production and playback without using the traditional channel-based methodology. This enables reproduction on any number of speakers in different configurations.
